We are incredibly honored and elated to learn that our dog run is now one step closer to making the much needed, large-scale repairs thanks to funding from the participatory budget!
Back in March, pack members campaigned to garner community member votes for the proposed dog run upgrade project on the 2022 Participatory Budget ballot for District 34.
The project received enough votes to be awarded $300,000 in funding towards a dog run renovation.
As the only dog friendly area available to Bushwick and Ridgewood residents, this is a beloved amenity in the neighborhood and we believe this project will provide a long term solution to ensure the dog run can serve as the suitable (and preferred) place for dogs to play off leash in the area and make Maria Hernandez Park safer for all to enjoy.
We thank everyone from the community who voted for this project and we are so grateful to have Council Member Jennifer Gutiérrez's support!
